I realized that as a kid I was extremely idealistic, to the core. As I've gotten older I've learned to be sometimes exceedingly cynical, but it's only to reassure myself that I am trying to remain practical, yet I never extinguish that one small ounce of idealism that runs through my very veins.

That is how endure what I endure. I know things will improve, but during these experiences I come across as being overly cynical; it grounds me, and yet no matter what the outcome is I've covered my bases. So if things turn out worse than my idealistic expectations, at least they turned out better than my worst expectations.

It's not a matter of IB paranoia though, so rest assured your senior year should run smoothly. Rather, my previous blog had stemmed from being overconfident about a certain subject to being completely confused about it the next week. It's terrifying trying to play the social politics of high school, especially when you feel dragged into the unspoken situation that you never wanted to be a part of in the first place.
